Tanks of the 746th Tank Battalion in support of the 60th Infantry Regiment, fire from a roadside at the Belgium town of Philippeville.
– 81mm Mortar Crew of B Company, 1st Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division fires several rounds.
– Observers use walkie-talkies and field phones to direct fire.

4 September 1944
The town of Beaumont is liberated: Towns people greet American soldiers of the 9th Infantry Division.

16 August 1944 – Town of Le Grais, France

16 August 1944 – Town of Beauvain, France
General Manton S. Eddy and US infantrymen and their commanders of 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division enter the town and are greeted by civilians.

17 August 1944 – Near Briouze, France
Men of the 39th Infantry Regiment in action near the town of Briouze.
We can see a 60mm Mortar crew getting radio messages to commence firing, and do so. Nearby, defense positions are being dug.
Armored troops are arriving, and a road is cautiously inspected.

8 November 1944 – Krinkelt, Belgium
Master Sergeant Michael Puzak of the 39th Infantry Regiment hands out the 1944 election results to his buddies on day after the election on Wednesday, 8th of November 1944. A list with electoral information is placed on the door of the make-shift Message Centre in town as well.
The 1944 United States presidential election was the 40th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 7, 1944.
The election took place during World War II.
Incumbent Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt defeated Republican Thomas E. Dewey to win an unprecedented fourth term.

5 March 1945 – Lommersum, Germany
Tanks and crew from C Company, 746th Tank Battalion, attached to the 39th Infantry Regiment standing in the streets of Lommersum, Germany.
They are discussing tactics for the next attack on the town of Strassfeld. Soldiers can be seen talking to civilians.
Tanks and soldiers then advance across the nearby fields and along both sides of a dirt road.
A German prisoner bandages a fellow prisoner’s hand.
Men of the 39th Infantry Regiment are supervising German POWs removing anti-tank mines from the fields.
