Private Arthur L. Kautz
– K Company, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division –
Arthur Kautz was born on July 12th, 1910 in Stroudsburg County, Pennsylvania.
He enlisted at Fort George G. Made in Maryland on March 16th, 1944.
After months of training, Private Kautz joined 2nd Platoon of K Company of the 60th Infantry Regiment. Soon he arrived in the Hurtgen Forest area where the 60th Infantry Regiment was attacking the town of Germeter, and the two roadjunctions just south of the town. On October 12th 1944, Private Kautz went Missing In Action.
His name is mentioned on the Wall of Missing at the US Cemetery in Margraten, The Netherlands.
